The AudioQuest Level-X DBS Pack is a 72V Dielectric Bias System (DBS) battery module designed for use with compatible AudioQuest DBS-enabled cables. It provides a constant electrostatic charge to the cables insulation, helping stabilize the dielectric material over time.
By maintaining a continuous bias field, the DBS system is intended to reduce dielectric interaction effects within the cable insulation, allowing the signal conductors to operate in a more consistent electrical environment. The DBS pack is not in the signal path and functions independently from audio transmission.
The Level-X DBS Pack is used as a replaceable power source for AudioQuest cables that feature integrated DBS circuitry.
