Charles Wesley Godwin – Christian Name [2LP]

Charles Wesley Godwin’s highly anticipated new album, Christian Name, his fourth album and second with Big Loud Records, is an intensely personal collection of songs. Born out of moments of mourning, redemption, and a tried-and-true reaffirmation of his faith, Christian Name is how Godwin learned to live again. While the record is a highly personal affairthe album’s title and cover come from his late grandfather, a Methodist preacher named Charles Godwinhes quick to note how critical a role his creative community of friends and musical collaborators played in the albums conception. Not only does Christian Name include a pair of thrilling feature collaborationsthe earworm Better That Way with Luke Combs and the remarkable Hey There, Son featuring Wyatt Floresbut its also the result of Godwin partnering with some of musics most treasured songwriters: Stephen Wilson Jr. (Brand New), Liz Rose (I Caught the Sunrise), Lori McKenna (Hey There, Son), Aaron Ratiere (Gods Been Good to Me), Travis Meadows (Try Again, Every Once in a While), Scooter Carusoe (Better That Way, Hallelujah High, Place I Know), and Tom Douglas (Street Advice). 2-LP set.SIDE A:1.
