A guitar, piano, and a harmonica plus Conor Oberst’s vocals… For his 7th solo effort, the Bright Eyes founder opts for a minimal, acoustic musical backdrop, which works heavily in his favor as the personal, earnest, & “new Bob Dylan” lyrics become the focal point. Written during a recuperative stay at his native Omaha, Nebraska, the 10-tracker includes highlights like “Tachycardia,” “Barbary Coast (Later),” “Gossamer Thin,” “Counting Sheep,” and “Mamah borthwick (A Sketch).” Some of the best work from the singer-songwriter, for sure!
