Sabian 8″ AA Splash Brilliant Finish
The Sabian 8″ AA Splash captures crisp, articulate attacks with minimal sustain—a cymbal that records immediately to light touches and quick stick articulation. Its compact size and extra-thin weight make it exceptionally responsive, ideal for tracking bright accents, tight hi-hat definitions, or cutting definition through dense mixes in the mix. This is a go-to cymbal for studio sessions where clarity and fast transient capture matter most.
Tone & Recording Characteristics
The bright sound character combined with hand-controlled hammering produces focused, cutting tones with excellent note definition that sits cleanly in multitrack recordings. The extra-thin weight keeps sustain short and controlled, allowing fast articulation to translate clearly to tape without wash or ring obscuring other tracks.
Build & Materials
B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin with trace silver) is Sabian’s premium alloy, delivering warm yet articulate response with balanced harmonic complexity that records with natural presence. Hand-hammering creates the natural cymbal profile and contributes to the responsive feel and tonal consistency across the playing surface, ensuring reliable takes across session hours.
