Schecter Omen Extreme-5 Electric Bass in Black Cherry Finish
The Omen Extreme-5 captures balanced, articulate bass tones with its thin ‘C’ neck profile and extended 35-inch scale, enabling precise playing across extended recording sessions and live tracking without hand fatigue. The mahogany body with flamed maple top and black cherry finish presents visual character that translates to studio appeal, while the arched top contour and crème multi-ply binding reinforce the instrument’s refined construction. This versatile five-string works across genres—from tight funk grooves to extended melodic passages—offering reliable tonal foundation and professional build quality without unnecessary expense.
Playability & Recording Feel
The neck geometry ensures comfortable tracking during long sessions: the thin ‘C’ shape measures .787″ at the first fret and .866″ at the twelfth fret, maintaining consistent feel for clean take after take. The 24 X-Jumbo frets on a 16-inch radius rosewood fretboard support both aggressive attack and smooth melodic articulation, while the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.771″ width accommodates standard five-string string spacing without choking frequencies.
Tone & Electronics for the Mix
Dual Schecter Diamond Bass pickups—positioned at the neck and bridge—deliver balanced output across the frequency spectrum with natural midrange presence that sits well in dense mixes. The 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powers active electronics for consistent signal strength and tonal shaping throughout recording sessions, while the diamond bass bridge ensures solid sustain and precise intonation for accurate bass lines. Factory-equipped with Ernie Ball 5 String Super Long strings (.045–.130 gauge), the bass arrives track-ready.
