The Sony PDW-F800 is a professional XDCAM HD422 camcorder engineered to deliver high-end production capabilities for cinematography, broadcast, and documentary applications. Building upon the successful PDW-700 platform, this shoulder-mount camcorder features three 2/3-inch Power HAD FX progressive CCDs with 14-bit A/D conversion, delivering stunning 1920 x 1080 full-resolution video with exceptional sensitivity of F12 and an excellent 59 dB signal-to-noise ratio. The PDW-F800 adds advanced creative capabilities including variable frame rate recording for slow and quick motion effects (4-60 fps), native 23.98P recording in 1080 mode, and an optical dual-filter wheel with independent ND and CC controls. Recording uses the MPEG HD422 codec at 50 Mbps with 4:2:2 color sampling onto Professional Disc media, with dual-layer 50 GB discs providing approximately 95 minutes of HD recording time.This complete package includes a Chrosziel 401-50 V-Mount baseplate specifically designed for Sony HD camcorders, which is fully compatible with the PDW-F800’s V-Wedge (VCT-14) tripod mounting system. The baseplate enables secure tripod attachment and provides a stable platform for production accessories. Two 8-inch 15mm lightweight support rods attach to the baseplate, creating a durable rail system for mounting matte boxes, follow focus units, zoom drives, or EVF mounts as required for professional field production.
