Tascam DR-40XP 32-Bit Float 4-Track Recorder
The DR-40XP is a portable four-track recorder designed for musicians, filmmakers, field recordists, podcasters, and content creators. Its 32-bit float recording mode captures a wide dynamic range with reduced risk of clipped or unusably quiet recordings, while support for sample rates up to 96kHz provides detailed audio for professional production workflows.
Its adjustable stereo microphones can be positioned in A-B or X-Y configurations to suit wide ambient recordings or focused stereo imaging. Two XLR/TRS combo inputs with low-noise HDDA microphone preamps and phantom power allow external microphones, mixers, and line-level sources to be connected for flexible four-channel recording.
USB-C connectivity lets the recorder function as an audio interface, making it practical for recording, streaming, conferencing, and mobile production. With up to 18 hours of operation when using the built-in microphones, it is well suited to extended location sessions.
