Sabian 10″ AAX Air Splash
This compact 10″ splash cuts through a dense mix with punchy, articulate response that opens up and breathes under stick impact. The AAX Air Splash delivers biting tone with surprising substance and depth for its size, making it a versatile addition to any cymbal setup for studio tracking and live session work. Six response-enhancing holes define its character and give it snap that carries across a wide dynamic range.
Design & Construction
Built from B20 bronze with a raw bell, the AAX Air Splash features AAX hammering and lathing that shape its bright, explosive tone. The six 1″-diameter holes are engineered to enhance articulation and cut, making this an efficient cymbal that responds cleanly at all volumes—critical for capturing definition in stereo overhead and close-miked sessions.
Sound Character
AAX Modern Bright cymbals are voiced for explosive attack and wide dynamic range, and this 10″ splash proves no exception in the studio. The combination of hole placement and raw bell construction yields a cymbal with genuine musical substance—not thin or one-dimensional, but present and focused enough to anchor quick, dry accents or swell into fuller wash tones without losing clarity in a crowded arrangement.
