Sabian 18″ XSR O-Zone Crash Cymbal
The XSR O-Zone delivers a sharp, aggressive response with exceptional cutting power in a compact 18″ format. Its thinner construction provides quick articulation without sacrificing volume, making it responsive to both delicate accents and forceful strikes. This cymbal excels in modern and heavy styles where raw attack and prominent white noise are sonic priorities.
Design & Construction
Built from B20 bronze with a distinctive thinner weight profile, the O-Zone combines the responsiveness of thin cymbals with added power for projection in tracked and live recordings. The two rows of six response-enhancing perforations (2-inch holes) fundamentally alter the cymbal’s decay and tonal character, reducing sustain while amplifying the attack phase—critical for maintaining clarity in dense arrangements.
Tone & Acoustic Character
This cymbal produces a darker, quicker crash with pronounced white noise and pure attack—ideal for cutting through dense mixes during recording and mix work. The perforation design yields a raw, cutting edge that emphasizes the initial strike while minimizing wash, giving you precise control over articulation and definition when tracking drums or overdubbing percussion.
