SABIAN 6″ AAX Splash
The SABIAN 6″ AAX Splash captures lightning-fast transients with a compact footprint that cuts through dense mixes without overshadowing other elements. This splash excels in tight, articulate playing where quick stick definition matters—ideal for recording sessions in rock, metal, and fusion where precision accent cymbals shape the drum tone. The bright, penetrating voice sits perfectly in the upper register of a cymbal stack or as a standalone accent piece, translating cleanly to microphone at any gain level.
Construction & Design
B20 Bronze material (a proprietary blend of bronze, tin, and silver) combined with pinpoint lathing creates the responsive, nuanced character that defines the AAX series. The larger-peen “over” hammering process adds depth and complexity to the bottom end, preventing the splash from sounding thin or one-dimensional despite its small diameter.
Sonic Profile
This cymbal produces an extremely fast and bright attack with a strong penetrating cut that projects effortlessly in live and recorded settings. The combination of craftsmanship and material choice ensures clarity and definition across dynamic playing ranges, from delicate articulations to aggressive, hard-struck accents—essential for capturing authentic drum performances in the studio.
